A mate wants to get into mtb and has £500-600 to spend. Looking at second hand as clearly where the value is but last time I posed the same question for my brother the hive mind came up with a new purchase at half price that was an immediate buy!

    Any decent bargains out there?

Calibre Line 10 is currently £599. Decent spec. Think the offer is up to the end of today only though.

Second hand Whyte 901. It’s what I did, and it’s a chuffing wonderful thing.

This budget range: hardtail from Calibre bikes!

Not the best pre-assembly quality. But their designs are good and components quite good.
