Has anyone done the Transandes stage race?

I have a Cotic Solaris with XT drivetrain and its a great bike but will riding this race on a 29er steel hard tail be too much for my 43yr old body?

I understand that it would be too hard for the BC Bike Race but I don’t know about Transandes.

And if not, what frame would you recommend? I can move components across. I live in Tanzania so LBS isn’t in my vocabulary.

    Thanks!
