Otter, not beaver. Ottery St Mary, or thereabouts.

I’m not so sure about that. The idea of introducing species sounds very appealing, but so much has changed with out ecosystem since they went that you can never be sure what the unintended consequences will be. I saw a documentary by David Attenburgh about him reintroducing dinosaurs to an island somewhere. Probably Guernsey or maybe Sark. Anyway it seemed like a good idea at the time, but frankly things really got out of hand very quickly. All very embarrassing for David. I think it was David.

They’re going to test the Beavers for son kind of disease they might be carrying.
If positive , they will be removed and put into captivity.

Are you sure that wasn’t Jurassic Park you were watching?

And don’t forget…..you can come down and see the Beavers at Grottery and then have a little bimble around the trails at Woodbury or Haldon Forest after.
Pub at Tipton St. John is also very good and is right on the Otter river.

I’m sure it was something like Jurassic Sark. Almost completely certain. David Attenborough was in it. And Katie Humble

When I was younger I had the exclusive fishing rights to a stretch of the river Otter, up stream from Ottery, but down stream of some nice trout fishing, the river had plenty of brown trout and eels, which would no doubt make it to where the beavers have set up home, can’t blame them really.

If you like that, then you need to read this book (even if you are not in Scotland) to get an insight into what might be….

I don’t think beavers eat fish or eels. Lynx next in my view.

It wasn’t an unreasonable assumption. If I lived in the water and had big **** off teeth, would I eat fish- or would I bite trees till they fell over so I could eat the bark off the top. I’d eat the bloody fish.
