My Pro2 bearing tools have arrived so I popped over the road to a local bearing supplier (Brammer) to get a price.
Front and rear hubs-7 bearings .

    Guess how much they quoted?!

A friend of mine was quoted £85 for 4 bearings for a pro II at a local bearing shop. He obviously questioned this. The guy then went out the back and on reapearing said, “Managed to get you a bit off. £35 please”
So magically he knocked £50 off! We assumed they are used to folk coming in and buying for business so they just make up a price and hope whoever it is doesn’t question.

I always thought they bumped up the price for cash sales so they could show a big discount for account holders…

    Not even wwaswas was there.

    Price quoted was £92.95
    + VAT (£18.59)
    Final price £111.54p

Brammer aren’t cheap for pretty much anything in my experience.

We were ac holders with bsl brammer and they were cheaper than any of the bike shop suppliers by a country mile.

Tried to set something similar up when i worked in alpine and eriks the bearing supplier just tried to rip the piss…. Like the op i have never laughed so hard when. Quoted.

Well considering CRC charge £28 for the complete set of rear ones, less than the OP paid

As the OP can I point out no monies were paid; I merely PMSL at their ‘quote’ then bought some off the classifieds for £23. I’m not a complete ####, although I did ride a drop barred big wheeler home in baggies/helmet peak so you may disagree!
