I was given a pair of F1 Uno bibs for my birthday about 7 weeks ago, they've done a fair few miles since then but no massive distance, they have started to bobble on the inside of the right leg and the right hand side of the chamios, being lycra this is going to become a weakness in the fabric which is pretty shit after 7 weeks for a pair of shorts that cost £105.

They came from CRC who are normally pretty good on returns and Assos seem to on paper have good customer service so hopefully this can be resolved.

Anyone had this kind of problem with Assos shorts?

my two year old uno's are a little thin in places and my 5? year old campanisimos are a little frayed. the milles have a few loose threads after 3 and 4 years.

Have you washed them with anything with velcro? if so then they will start to go bobbly as they also will do if there's any rough edges on your saddle or (if you use one) saddlebag.
Look on the assos website for their care instructions and warnings on velcro.
FWIW I've been using assos for over 10 years and yes, some of it has gone a bit bobbly, but the only item of clothing out of probably 20 items jointly owned by me and the other.5 that's gone bad was a set of her airblock biblongs which wore through on a ride last year (also involving quite a lot of blood). She sent them back to assos in Switzerland, they were repaired and returned with a box of swiss chocolates for free.

Washed in the protective sack from new, no velcro and no saddle stitching (Fizik Arione).

do you wear baggies over the top? the seams can cause pressure points.

that, or a damaged saddle? saddle not on quite straight? i know, because i have done both of these…

You could always try "dressing to the left" and see if that helps?
… or take the PA out before riding 😉

Saddle is 100% and I do not wear baggies.

I've had my F1.Milles for 4 years and whip em out for anything over 60 miles, which I do pretty much every weekend in the summer months and they're still going strong. I can only guess that you were unlucky and had em rubbing against something either in the wash or while riding.

Having said that, £120 or whatever they cost nowadays is a shocking amount to pay. But they're the best shorts out there IMO. I got mine on ebay for half price and can only pray that they last another 4 years as I'm not sure if I would want to pay full price.

I find the endura FS260's to be the best mid priced shorts that I've found so far.

Assos isn't (unless you're uber-rich or sponsored) what I consider everyday wear – after all, top end kit tends not to have the endurance of slightly less expensive stuff (e.g. one-season frames, XTR vs. XT, F1 car vs. commuter coffin).

What? That's rubbish, XTR lasts as long, if not longer than XT, and Assos (of old) lasted longer than anything else out there.

I think their latest stuff is nowhere near as good, I think Gore has surpassed Assos now, particularly as they're taking the piss on pricing!

I must admit shorts bobbling is not one I've seen, the most common problem is the stitching on the pad wearing through, I've had that on several of my pairs.

The stitching was all to cock on the last batch of F.I.13s we had in too, not great at £190 a pair!

OTOH I've still got a 7 year old Airblock jacket, which gets used for virtually every winter ride and a pair of Roubaix bibtights that aren't much newer, they're more comfy than anything else out there and last forever!

Trading on a name now though I think, gone form over function. It's a real shame.
