I was feeling a little tender after 66 miles on Friday (I know it’s not much by roadie standards, so don’t start!), got some of this magical stuff and BAM! no more soreness. Also made yesterday’s ride feel as if I had no soreness prior and definitely none after.

    I didn’t expect the tingly feeling though…odd.

The new bibs have helped too, but I feel they have each played an equal part in the success.

That 106 mile sportive on Sunday is looking a little more achievable now!

I thought you meant “Assos chamois cream on the dog’s danglies” 😯

Depends on whether your pooch rides or not? I think it would be irresponsible to take your pet out without prior precaution.

You may get more than you bargained for in the application process…

Thankfully I am allergic to dogs so never need to consider this as an option.

    +1 for Assos.

I used it on a multi-dayer recently and it helped fend off the worst of the “chafing”… Kept applying during the day for best effectiveness, although I had to find somewhere out of sight for that 😯

Great stuff. Of course other, cheaper creams are available without the swacky swiss kudos.

    Assos cream is good.

Conotrane is just as good, but £1.50 for a 100ml.

Can’t help thinking a MTB forum is the wrong place to talk about minty arselard…

another +1 for it being tops… used it on Friday for 160km of offroad riding (in combination with Mille F1 bibs), no chafe or undercarriage discomfort to report… could sit down in the saddle the next day as well, so bloody good result all round! 😀

Are you not allowed to use it when you ride an MTB then?

I’ve only ever used any kind of backside treatment on 200+ mile road rides.

MTB rides, even 100 mile days, involve much less sitting in the saddle for ours on end than churning out the road miles, so I’ve never had any issues.

I don’t really like it myself. I think the Natures Kiss stuff is far superior.

Well we couldn’t have managed without it on our Alps crossing!
Maybe we’re not all as **** ROCK as you eh Dyffers?

Assos creme and Mille F1 is the ultimate combo, bar none, end of, period.

+1 but why have Assos changed the colour to white from blue?

And the smell, and the burning feeling… 😯

    That is entirely possible. 😉

Or maybe I’ve put enough miles in over the years to achieve an arse that’s like an old Brooks saddle.

Either way, my point was you don’t need to pay Assos prices – try some Conotrane, available from yer local Boots without having to show the doc your arse or anything.

    and the burning feeling…

A large part of what i don’t like about it.

the old stuff was better, more tingly.

I suspect, although this is just a guess, that the colour was changed due to the preponderance of light coloured, even white cycling shorts now available.

The old stuff used to leave a faint yellow staining on white lycra.

Yeah right, blame the cream 🙂

Its ace, tried them all and its the only chamois cream I get on with, as in it doesn’t irritate the hell out of my skin like the others.

People say its expensive but I don’t think it is for how well it works. I don’t use much either so a tub lasts a fair old while

    Top stuff 🙂

Deep Heat or Ralgex works. It stops you sitting on your arse for a week.
