Those Knipex wrenches in the Pinkbike link look nice.

I had to resort to using a lump hammer on my C456 and Solaris to get the existing headsets out to fit anglesets. I got away with using a long length of plastic on the solaris against the cup though so it was like using a plastic hammer but the C456 ended up having the cup cut out at I didn’t want to hit it any harder.

Occasional use of a rubber mallet but have never had to use a hammer on a bike

    Haahaaahahaaahhahaaaahahaaahaaaaaaa!
You’ve not worked on enough bikes sunshine! I’ve worn hammers out hitting bikes..! 🙂

Seriously though, as they’ve been mentioned, what’s a good sized dead blow hammer for bike use? I think I need one in my ‘box.

Don’t you know the three rules for tool selection ?

    1. Always use the proper tool for the job.
    2. The proper tool is always usually a hammer.
    3. All Most tools can be used as a hammer.

Always better to tap with a fat bastard hammer than have to swing at it with a little one.

Hammer and drift needed this week to remove bearings from Hope PF46 BB. I used my small pin hammer ’cause I’m a wimp.

If the first blow doesn’t fix it ther’ll be repercussions.

Angle grinder. You can fix anything, or ruin it completely in seconds, with an angle grinder.
