We’re having some lino fitted into a very small shower room.
The chap arrived yesterday, sucked in his cheeks and took a deep breath. “Oooh I can’t fit that, its needs screed.”
It took him 5 minutes and a mug of tea to do the screed this morning, obviously at extra expense.
The results are not what I was expecting.
He’ll be back tomorrow to fit the lino.

Does this look right to you lovely experts?
    Thanks

I’m impressed at the self-closing bog.

Thats just feather screed to level the joints
costs about £22 for an 11 kg bag enough to do that to a 100 sq mtrs of plywood

dries in about 20 mins so he could have fitted your floor after the tea break .

    how much is he charging

If you look in the left hand corner, there is just what looks like hardboard (I know nothing about flooring).

    He’s charged £15

As trout says, it’s not expensive but it doesn’t sound like he’s ripped you off either.

It most likely needed doing and needed to dry, but not for long.

Vinyl flooring is normally only a couple of mm’s thick and will show any deviations, so the sub floor has to be perfectly smooth hence the need to screed. Relax, your man sounds like a pro.

    Excellant.
I didn’t know how it should look, now my mind is at rest.
Yes £15 probably doesn’t sound alot to many people. But I’m on minimum wage most of the time.
    Not complaining though.
