Yet to meet a friendly roadie.. went past about 10-12 of them yesterday, all about 50m apart riding slowly along a quiet country lane. I said Hi to every single one, and they all totally ignored me except for 1 who avoided eye contact and muttered something that sounded vaguely like Hi. None of them were out of breath, and they weren't even racing. Mtbers / casual cyclists / horse riders etc always seem to be friendly, just not roadies.
I was on a rigid mtb and baggy shorts – do they have some of secret rule not to talk to anyone on fat tyres?
