Having been on disc pads for so long (& HS33’s before that) this is the first time I think I’ve ever replaced shoes, so bear with the question.

Ordinary enough deep-drop calipers, (& Mavic Open Sport rims) so I assume I can use pretty much any cartridge brake shoe’s? I’m not super heavy on brakes, there’s not much to me (or the bike) and I descend like the old man I am.
    😉

Any of them come especially recommended / to be avoided?

Pads? Swisstops are the best I’ve used.

The holders (shoes?) Are a bit different, I had some lifeline ones from wiggle and they were very snug with pads other than wiggles own

There are various different sizes. Generally length I think. Campaign and shimano are different too. Worth checking before you order.

I do find some of the cheap ones are poor, I’d stick with shimano if you can
