I do a fair bit of hiking on dry dusty volcanic ground

For some time I’ve used North Face Hedgehogs or running shoes but neither are entirely satisfactory. The Hedgehogs are tough enough but the Gore Tex membrane is obtrusive in 30 degree temperatures. The running shoes are light but have a lifetime measured in days and the mesh uppers let too much dust in

What I’m looking for is the Hedgehogs without the Gore Tex. Any ideas folks?

Dunno about the specifics but Adidas do Terrex approach shoes with the 5.10 stealth sole that look good

I use the non-goretex Terrex 525’s like all great things you need to find a last that suits you

I like 5.10 shoes for walking on rocks, their sole is really grippy…

Scarpa tequila. I work mine to a recent 4 week trip in Cuba. Super hot conditions and they coped well and keeping the trotters in good nick.
