My wife wants a downloadable (strava) GPS bike computer for her road bike.
She’s been using her smart phone all summer but finds it a pain to use so wants a bar mounted simple computer that can be download.

Garmin Edge 200 GPS bike computer is currently £88 at Wiggle but is there anything better for the same money or less?

How about a bryton rider 20? Seems to be marginally cheaper and it’s ant+ so you can add extras as needed. Pretty sure the garmin is not.

For that price the edge is a steal!

the Garmin 200 is ANT+ compatible.

the Mio Cyclo 105 can be found cheap on the ‘bay.
its more at the Garmin 500 level – but a lot cheaper.

but for online software and integration with Strava (without export/import) …. Garmin.

the Garmin 200 is ANT+ compatible.

Are you sure..? Garmin state that it isn’t compatible with ANT+ power meters – so would that be the same for all ANT+ devices..?

Garmin 200 isnt ant plus also cant have hr monitor – it also has an unadjustable 3 second record interval so not exactly great for strava 😉

Is it possible to get the Edge 200 route plot onto an O.S. 1/25000 map like you can with the posher models?

Be aware – the edge 200 doesn’t allow you to display the time on the main page. You have to hold down a button for 2 seconds, and then the digits are quite small and hard too see.

Do you mean time of day?

Yes. while stationary its alot easier to view obviously but on the move not so much.

    Poor design choice by Garmin.
