Seem to be similar price and won't have to wait 4 weeks for delivery but is it as powerful?

Similar to what? As powerful as what?

Yes, it's the same emitter, but it has a smooth reflector rather than an orangepeel one, which means you can see the outline of the emitter dies on a smooth surfaces, and it's a much more 'floody' than the DX lights, without a hotspot in the centre. I prefer the mounting of the DX, with the O-ring, as well as the spot beam. I guess if you used an AirBike on the bars, with a helmet mounted DX you'd have the best set-up.

It's good enough to use as a solo light, but as mentioned it is a bit 'floody', which means on fast downhills you can feel like you're going to outrun the beam.

The switch is a right faff too, in that every time you turn it off it cycles to the next brightness mode.

    Unless they fixed that.

Happy with mine though, has been a good intro to night riding.
