A legit one they no longer need?

Do I actually still need one? I plan to install an old game or two on a VM.

I probably have an old volume licensing key at home.

I’ll have a look but it may be the weekend before I get chance to find it.

My experience of old games on VMs is that they often don’t like it.

Have you had a look on gog.com to see if they have the old game you’re looking to play, as you can iften get the game for a couple of quid and the nice people at gog update the games so that they run on later versions of windows, which saves you the hassle of bludgeoning it into working on a VM (system shock 2 is an example that springs to mind for not working easily on VMs)

    I said legit…!

I’ve used gog.com I think before to buy Theme Park for my daughter to play.  But tbh the UI is so poor she found it a bit rubbish to play.  I’m thinking about Sim City 4, which is available on gog for $20.

You shouldn’t need a VM for Sim City 4. Not really a good choice for younger kids though, it’s probably the most complex one of the series.

I photographed the key on the last laptop I chucked in the bin.

I will have  a look for it.

gog.com is very tempting.  I want Red Baron and Caesar 3.  Luckily I don’t have a Windows machine right now or I’d be stuck playing them for months.
