There's a blue and white one I know of that had a crack in it…

Or was it just a crack in the paint afterall? 😉

    Research!

Lifetime warranty on workmanship, 5 years on materials, don't quite understand that but it's attractive.

i've had 2 ,still own one and its been fine for about 5 years ( not been ridden for a while as i have too many bikes and its currently forkless) . i saw they guy who owns the other one last year and that was still going strong even with a dented top tube

Ask about the ti ones and you might get a few comments

Postie. what do you know about quality bikes 😛

    they steel ones ride superbly.
easy enough to get repaired if you did manage to crack one.
they also so do a steel jump bike(beatstick) if your that way inclined.

    Nope

Mine did 3 years of Alps/Peak district riding without a hitch (well the paint chips reasonably easily).
But then I only weigh 9 stone. It's still going strong (7 years now), but I don't really choose it for the tough rides these days as it's still only got 80mm forks on it.

The paint is standard two pack car paint, so I'm not surprised it chips easy. I've looked into that, and I paint cars in my business, I think they use it because it's the best material for fancy paint finishes, where as powder and stove enamel doesn't quite mask/two tone/ graphic so compliantley, and with such finesse.

I like the way they seal off the tubes except the seat, and they cavity wax that, so if you look after the outside all should be well – I suppose.
