Paint stripper, brush on, cover with cling film to stop evaporation and lots of patience. Hard to say without seeing really.

I suppose he could keep sanding until it’s too thin to actually be a floor anymore.

personally, I’d probably try a mechanical way of getting rid of it.

either multiple shallow passes with a router to cut the stuff out and then fill with pva mixed with sawdust from rest of floor or using a chisel.

ideally, you keep sanding but depends if they’re gouges filled with paint or areas of the floor. The latter should be levelled really.

I got down with a chisel and a sharp blade to clear out the stuff left after sanding

Scrapers, and I mean woodworking scrapers like these…

You can alter the profile to fit the shape of what you are scraping.

Cheers all, I think its water based floor paint. Scraping then sanding sounds about right. Floorboards are about 14mm thick so can’t be too heavy handed with the sander!

All woodwork is always accompanied by a pocket knife.

Thinners and a wire brush or steel wool.

If you have got the edger, just tilt it from horizontal and buff the paint out.

A warm iron and a damp cloth might (repeat might) lift the dent back up. It’s supposed to on recent dents.

I’m assuming you don’t have any other use for an iron.

Small sand/bead blaster will finish it off beautifully.

    14mm 😯

IIRC 18mm is the thinnest available / commercially used.

14mm floorboards, I bet you walk with a spring in your step. Carpet it, you won’t see the paint.
