    You’ve lost me junkyard….

Are you saying I’m looking for trouble?

If so, that really couldn’t be further from the truth!

As for assumption…. you know what they say about her?

    She’s the Mother of all F ups….

Assume nothing until you’ve all the facts.

    Edit: just read your edit…..

    Grow UP.

    someone going unpredictably apeshit

That’s why it’s often best just to walk away……

I’ve learnt my lesson that gobbing off at strangers often ends up in tears/blood/absent teeth.

I’m one for the quiet life & like my smile so I’ve learnt to bite my tongue.

Sadly, it seems some can’t & unfortunately end up the worse for it.

And if anyone wants to try & interpret that as my saying she deserved it…..well. you’re in a pretty sad place!

@Junkyard, maybe you live in an alternate universe where the roads aren’t seemingly chock full of people who are willing to escalate to violence at the drop of a hat, same with those who like behaving like pigs in public.

More often than not, they will escalate to violence for very little, and even more so if they perceive weakness or vulnerability.

If you want to go around thinking we live in this nice polite world where you confront these people and walk away unscathed, that’s your shout, just don’t expect the rest of us to be that naive.

Nobody deserves to be assaulted, but sometimes that is going to be the consequence of doing the right thing. Or doing nothing, some people need no provocation to attack, they will find it themselves.

Why are you still here then saying the same thing? WALK AWAY PLEASE [ waves arm in exasperated fashion awaits assault he deserves – its a really shit argument you are putting fwd

Are you saying I’m looking for trouble?

Well you seem to think anyone who speaks to anyone is so yes you must be looking for unpredictable over the top reaction resulting in violence.

“grow up” surley there is enough justification now for me to launch an assault on you according to your great thinking

Anyway its just your argument used against you so we at least agree its immature and puerile

He’s never said it was justified…just that it could happen.

@Junkyard, if we were having this discussion face to face, and you were waving your arms around I would fully expect it could become a physical confrontation. To assume otherwise would be a ridiculous underestimation on my part.

Violence is the go to for a great deal of people to deal with disagreements and confrontation. It is indicative of modern society and most definitely a certain section of society.

Junkyard. Why do you feel the need to be rude when interacting with folk on this forum?

I do live in a world where you can say please dont run me over and not get assaulted. I dont think this is massively naive of me

He’s never said it was justified…just that it could happen.

I never said he said it was justified either or that he said it re read what I said.

If I was better with words I might be able to draw a comparison to some people’s over heated reaction to some of the posts on this thread and shoving a woman off a bike for flicking the finger..

The only comparison is – words on a forum have absolutely no meaning compared to physical actions.

    Your basis for this please?

Oh, & you were the one offering consequences not I!

I’m a bit confused – how was she “gobbing off”?

Maybe my world is a bit too like Junkyard’s, but I don’t think a woman in her early 40s calmly saying “Please don’t try and knock me off” is gobbing off.

Responding to that simple request with “Shut up you ****” THAT would be gobbing off!

This kind of boll@$&s is part of the reason I moved away from the South East, everybody is so highly strung and the general attitude of London-centric types is that they’d sooner glare at you than say ‘hello’….any instruction to somebody seems to be seen as an invitation to fight, add in overcrowding, congestion etc and I just threw in the towel, there’s more to life than house prices.

Take the blinkers off people and move away from Laahndahn and the South East, there are far nicer places to reside!

Thats a good & brave point – but you’d better be able to deal with the consequences of your actions.

The point is that there’s a certain amount of whataboutery on this thread, whereas in fact this is a simple case of right and wrong.

What I don’t get with all of these posts is this:
Someone is blatantly assaulted and a load of folk line up to blame the person who was assaulted. Now sure we could all do things a little better/not shoot our mouths off when riled up – but for goodness sake that was assault, nothing less – stop blaming the victim for an angry person losing control and assaulting someone.

“Here, get this. I was crossing a road minding my own business when some stuck up cow passed me on a bike and asked ‘please don’t try and knock me off’! I was like WTF! Told the stupid cow to **** off! But wait, get this. She then stuck the finger up at me, cheeky bitch. I’m not having that, so I run after her and pushed her over lol.”
