I’ve been trying to log on for a while with no luck.

Rather than press refresh all night I thought I’d ask on here.

It’s bust for me too. Restarted the broadband and PC – no joy with Firefox or IE.

When you said bust I thought you meant credit crunch bust…. not just broken! Phew!

Oops. Sorry I should have been clearer.

I suspect Amazon’s business model is more robust that some more conventional retailers.

    I doubt they’ll be next.

It wasn’t just Amazon. BT’s system failed, and I’ve been getting our IT support tonight to hassle BT, who also provide us with our internet links.

This might or might not be relevent:
Other threads on here are customers muttering about tiscali. To cut a long story short, it appears that a tunnel in london ( part of the olympic building ) has servered a main BT cable. This has affected ‘those isp’s working with BT….’ and causing problems nationwide.
” As soon as it’s stable we’ll get engineers to sort it….”
but no idea as to when that actually will be.
It’s sounding like it’s affecting quite a few people randomly, and possibly including sites such as amazon.
    maybe????
    cheers

Hi – when I said our site, I meant the consumer website I have the operational responsibility for. Our IT incident team report in to me when our websites go down, and they were speaking to BT last night, who explained that it was BT’s fault that caused many different companies web operations to fail, ours and Amazon’s included. The full incident report will be sent to me later today : )

    Si
