FF29s are stiff but not uncomfortably so in my experience.

Was a bit late to the party it seems (as usual), second ride to date on this and still liking it more each time:

Couldn’t say the same for the Inbred (SS) for some reason.

I had the same choice to make a month back. I ended up with a Surly Karate Monkey. Close run thing but my budget wouldn’t stretch to an El Mar.

I am VERY happy with my Monkey though.
People have done the Tour Divide on KMs and you can see why.

Getting back to the original question, small size 29er for bikepacking etc………..my Mrs currently rides a 14″ frame On-One 456, she would like a 29er for bikepacking, but would need a 14″ frame again. Any ideas? On-One Parkwood maybe……….

Nice. Will there be a pre order sometime soon or just wait till they appear?

If it rides like my fire line, but cheaper, it should be a great success

Any idea if the Parkwood will be offered as a complete bike?

Yes – I think we’ll be launching with a Deore/Revelation/Reverb £999 spec, and offering a more budget model too. Something like XC32TK’s and Deore at £749.

    Parkwood? what? Curse you Brant.
That sounds like exactly the frame i was looking but couldn’t find and so just bought a weighty second hand ragley bigwig.
How am i supposed to sneak two frames past the missus?

Brant, had an interesting chat with you at the London Bike Show. When will that Codeine and this Parkwood ( for her indoors) hit the On-One store??

Also a bit late to the party but you wouldn’t be going far wrong with a Charge Cooker. Just in process of building one for same reasons as OP. Although mine is a 2012 model and the new ones seem have lost the ‘classic’ look. Still some 2012/13 frames about for under £300 in small.
