    Does any 8 speed shifter work with the alfine hub or do you have to use the alfine rapid fire unit?

    alfine/nexus only, apart from a bar end shifter no-one seems to sell ( j-tec? )

    I've got a J-Tek bar end shifter on mine (bought from planet x. SJS also sell them)
