can anyone link or recommend (if you know of or have a place etc or friends that do this you can recommend) me somewhere for a couple of nights break away next week?

ideally shropshire/north wales, but close to m6 northside so can get most places with in a few hours max (dont want go south etc)

just after a chill out place pref countryside, maybe pub nearby, nice walks, tv etc, not a freezing cold yurt or similar more of a cottage/caravan etc

ive had a look on air b n b etc but its a minefield, wondered if any like minded people on here have had similar thoughts and could recommend something? (no kids required just the two of us and pref away from kids too lol)

    cheers!

This place is a lovely B&B with a nice little cottage attached

    That’s a big area!

Rural Staffordshire so further east than you might want, we’ve stayed here and although the Shepherd’s Hut is small it has heating and the hot tub is very nice: https://www.copperbeechglamping.co.uk/ Quiet, affordable, near to the M6, pub in village about 15 minutes walk, canals and farmland. Will be muddy on walks.

Cottage at Cae Adda: https://www.caeadda.com/ Next to Trawsfynydd Lake so good walking and near CyB, but not ‘near’ pubs.

Be aware there are roadworks on the A483 between Chester and Wrexham so avoid that road if you can.

thank you folks, really appreciated! some great ideas there, betws a good one and within the drive limit time, looks nice and peaceful plus able to walk to betws

ill take a look at those two konagirl, thanks for that, dont mind where it is as long as its relaxing, we have no preference, just want a few nights away from everything so anything is a possibility!

keep em coming, but great so far, already nicer than the ones ive scrolled through on air b n b

This place is lovely. No vehicle access to some of the accommodation so it’s lovely and chilled. https://walcothall.com/stay/

    We stayed here recently
    https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/18219240

No electric – was originally the power generator for the main house and still has the big Lister donk in the shed. Candles everywhere, a gas fridge and log burners.
Went with some good friends of ours and loved it.

It’s set in the grounds of the main manor house so no less off grid than it appears but it has its own woods/forest so perfect if you have a doggo.

    We’d go again.

I’ve a few pics if you need some more info

thanks for the ideas – those above are a little too rural for our needs (more specifically city life wife!) still want internet/tv and heating

not asking much i know, and will definitely look into all avenues above, appreciate the help! the first betws cottage is about where shes at with not being somewhere busy dont think she’d do these wooden shack type ones

Pengwern (Betws) is really good but there is a short section of road with no pavement as you walk into town. You will need a headtorch but we’ve been a few times and never had an issue. (even had someone offer us a lift as it was raining)

Pre-covid in Betws you’ve got Ty Gwyn, Betws Bistro, Olif, Hangin’ Pizzeria and the Alpine Coffee Shop. All worth a visit and some pubs too.

thank you bud – appreciate that, we’ve been with parents before one day to betws and had a walk around its a lovely place albeit im sure will be rammed next week, but if can get away from the crowds in the day and pop there for early morning coffee /later drinks etc then sounds like a plan

We stayed in Conwy last week for 2 nights at Y Capel which is a converted chapel belonging to the Erskine Arms. Its located within the town walls so everything is on your doorstep and some great walks out to the marina and beyond. Great place for a 2 night break and 2 minutes off the A55.
