I thought they were hot water, whiskey and honey. Ends up its this.

1 oz brandy, whiskey or rum
    1 Tbsp honey
    1/4 lemon
    1 cup hot water
    1 tea bag

    Preparation:

Coat the bottom of a mug or an Irish coffee glass with honey.
Add the liquor and the juice of the lemon quarter.
On the side, heat water in a tea kettle and add the tea bag to make hot tea.
Pour the steaming tea into the glass and stir.

    Well nice.

Hopefully man flu will be here for a few days more. 😀

Hate tea. Swap it for orange juice or vimto and you’ve got me.

When I was a kid it was one of the things to look forward to – being sick enough for a toddy. 🙂

Good Scottish tradition – feeding whisky to 5 year olds.

Went to the winter wonderland in Hyde Park at the weekend and discovered hot chocolate with rum OMG 😯 why did no one tell me about this before.

Thankfully it was cold enough to justify having 3

    Tea in a toddy? 🙄

I never heard the like. More whisky and a bit of hot water – that’s the spirit!

The crumbled tops of some cloves and some sliced fresh ginger are a more welcome addition.

    Honey
    Boiling water – stir
Slice of lemon stuck with four or five cloves
double whiskey – cheaper the better

I use this as a base these days with lashings of a blend and anything else alcoholic that requires drinking.

The tanin in the tea adds to the peatyness of the whiskey.

Hot whisky macs are even better.

On the side, heat water in a tea kettle and add the tea bag to make hot tea.

Eh? Theres a lot of tea in that sentence, more than in any toddy I’ve tasted!
Will any old kettle do? I dont have a specific tea one. 😆
