    You Windows chaps

Sign up for the free Beta of Affinity Windows and get free photo editing software before they perfect it and it starts to cost you money.

We are now only a matter of weeks away from our first free beta of Affinity on Windows!

    Ah, Serif 😀

The masters of pestering you for money, particularly for upgrades which they have a knack of making them required. Usually because of their buggy software you need a fix for and if your version is unsupported so you need the upgrade. Buy it off them and you’re on their list and get regular phone calls asking if you want to upgrade. 😉

(based on my folks experience with Serif’s web and publishing software)

Wasn’t that back when the company had different owners 😉 back in the days of Knights and Bridge evenings.

Never had a problem with Affinity, pretty good help forum and no one has asked for cash and the upgrades are free. Good job the staff took over the company and went their own way 8)

Still seems to be the case with WebPlus and PagePlus. Parents get pestered for upgrades and they make the upgrades compelling, such as having been kicked onto Win 10 by Microsoft, guess what, the old versions they have aren’t supported and sure enough there are things that are broken. Fix? Yep, upgrade. And because they skipped a version, then it’s full price.

Their model is based on promoting the cheapness of the stuff, even giving them away initially, but they do frequent new versions which you seem to need.

Not sure with Affinity. Free upgrades at the moment, but it goes against their business model. I’d doubt you’ll get the full version after the beta version expires without paying.
