Trying to put together a few routes for a solo trip coming up in September when I’m hoping it will be quiet (midweek) and looking to see if this is worth doing.

Essentially it’s up to the Knott, down to Angle Tarn and Boredale Hause then up Beda head and down to winter crag rather than the dale head descent. Back up to Boredale Hause via Boredale head and back to hartstop.

Looks like some really nice terrain in a relatively small 15 miles.

Does anyone know what the descent off Beda head is like? Is it overly techy for a solo ride? Much exposure?

    Cheers in advance.

No direct experience, but Geograph images suggest it is fine.

It’s good. A few techy sections, but no real exposure to speak of. I wouldn’t have any qualms about riding it solo

    Cheers both

JB, do you think it’s better than just going down Dale head?

Yeah, it’s a fair bit better than the drop to Dale Head. That one is over a bit too quickly and is basically just grass with a few hidden ruts. Following the ridge gives more variety and is longer. Wins all round
