  • Adapting wheel / hub width?

So, I’m building up a cheap SS HT. Rear dropout spacing is 135x9mm. Am looking at some used Novatec wheels which are 142mm spacing. I know you can get QR adaptors, but can you reduce the width DOWN to 135mm? Is it just an end-cap swap, end caps and axle, or is the hub shell width too wide for a 135mm spacing? Or does it depend?
    Cheers

If they’re the switchable hubs then yes, once you swap the caps it’ll be 135mm QR.

Yeh if it has swappable end caps 142 x 12 & 135 x 9 use the same (non boost) hub shell.

There is such a confusing range of end caps available that in the end I had to contact a very helpful novatech USA to ensure I got the right ones for my fatbike.
