- A mate is doing Eroica on this tomorrow
Only the 30 miler, but still 😯 😮
I’ll have my suit ready for the funeral – he’s not even a cyclist of any sort…

It’s far to hipster for me. Is he doing it in tweed.Posted 4 years ago
Mate the chopper is one of the most comftable bikes I’ve ever ridden …..30miles no probPosted 4 years ago
Nope, an Evil Kenival costumePosted 4 years ago
I thought they were either Red or Yellow..Posted 4 years ago
Hope he has a great time. I marshalled last year, was a fantastic day, lots of happy, tired people on bikes!Posted 4 years ago
I thought they were either Red or Yellow..
No idea, this is an early 70’s Mk1 that he paid £1100 for – it’s pristine thoughPosted 4 years ago
Now I’ve spunked some cash on retrobikes in my time, but HOW MUCH?Posted 4 years ago
And here he is – photo courtesy of Villager Jim on Facebook
Fair play, he completed it in a respectable time

Needs to try harder next time, I was marshalling on the 50/100mile route and had a guy on a gigantic penny farthing, a guy on a blue BSA shopping bike and several early Moulton’s with tiny wheels.
Kudos to all those that did the rides though and some beautiful bikes being ridden.Posted 4 years ago
and had a guy on a gigantic penny farthing
Guessing it’s the guy who works at Stanley Fearns in Matlock – he rides it quite a lot…Posted 4 years ago
Evil Kenival outfit but Union Jack socks?
Fail.Posted 4 years ago
My wife spotted your friend on the 30 miler; I followed Penny Farthing man up and down the hill to Chatsworth. That was an education.Posted 4 years ago
but Union Jack socks
Haughty sniffiness fail.Posted 4 years ago
A) did he wheelie it ? (Like everyone could wheelie a chopper, it was in the manual that came with the bike)
B) has he still got his balls ? (That gearshift was brutal in endos)
😆Posted 4 years ago
Good on him – much more fun/interesting than 100s of hipsters pretending they were into road racing ‘back in the day’.Posted 4 years ago

but Union Jack socks
Haughty sniffiness fail.
And his socks are on upside down.Posted 4 years ago
To be fair, he probably would be in distress riding that round L’Eroica.Posted 4 years ago
The claim that the term Union Jack properly refers only to naval usage has been disputed, following historical investigations by the Flag Institute in 2013.[note 2]Posted 4 years ago
