buy a pair of Halo freedom wheels at £230 or put my hand a little deeper and get some Stans ZTR335s on XT hubs at just shy of £300?

The halos are very good but not flyweight, a good choice if you eat wheels.
Why not get something built up. XT on mavic, or maybe salsa rims cos they are nice (but not cheap)

They’re going on a Carver which will be a *race bike so weight is quite important. Don’t tend to be hard on wheels, I only weigh just under 11st.

*My opinion of race may differ from those who are fast.
