Mrs Yak wants a 100mm suspension fork in lieu of her current rigid fork on her 29er. She is 55kg, so fairly light and not an ‘over the front, elbows out sort’. In the past on other bikes, getting full travel despite a correct amount of sag has been a problem. She just want something that works well, not too heavy or too expensive. Straight 1 1/8th steerer and 9mm QR.

Currently looking at Recon Gold TKs or Manitou Tower Experts. Any light riders have any experience of these? Or can recommend a good fork for a lighter rider in a similar price bracket?

Maybe check merlin/crc for deals on old stock SIDS?

Look at some second hand Sids or Rebas.

SIDS would be nice, but even the old stock is over budget. Maybe s/h if one turns up.

How is the solo air spring on rebas for progressiveness nowadays? I used to have an old duel air one and it was good for getting this right for someone lighter.
