  • 29 v 29+ fork and offsets

    Just ordered a new frame which recommends a 44mm offset fork.

    Whilst check my secondhand Yari’s for the offset I noticed they are actually 29+ fork not the 29/27.5 plus forks I though I’d bought and 51mm offset! ( got them 6 months ago so too late to do anything about in now)

    The frame can take 27.5, 27.5 plus and 29 wheels (Kingdom X2), I plan to run 27.5 with 2.6 tyres. Forks are set at 140mm.

    What effect on the geometry and ride will using these 29+ fork with a different offset have?

    Will I notice?

    I wouldn’t worry about it, particularly if you can’t return them. Just build it up and enjoy, if it seems to be causing any major issues you can think about changing then.
