    what about 650c?

in fact, what about 650b wheels on a smaller road bike?

Been done before on road bikes, and it was crap then, crap now. TBH we only ended up on 26″ wheels on MTBs by accident, 29″ would have been far better from the start.

My touring bike is built around 26″ wheels. Not quite a road bike but with high pressure slicks it rolls pretty well and is very good when climbing steep hills. However, it loses speed quickly and actually has quite a harsh ride. It is also ugly. Road going bikes with little wheels just don’t look good.

    Can it be done?

I mean, just imagine the benefits, smaller diameter so they accalerate faster and turn better.

You could develop taller larger volume tyres to get a bit of give for on bumpy roads.

Imagine the clearance for fitting mud guards!!!

P.S. Getting really bored of reading all the 29er 650b threads.

P.P.S. Yes I know I have a choice not to read them.. but they keep drawing me in.
