Really enjoyed my riding this year.
Mainly mtb with tiny percentage of road biking. Does include some commuting but that’s mainly off road on the mtb 🙂

Had a good year for cycling:

    Rides: 176
    Total: 5,233 miles
    Time: 546hrs
    Elevation: 444,274ft

Got into a distance challenge with a mate & I topped out with 152 miles in 11.5 hrs riding.

Made redundant in November & decided to retire, looking to better my 2016 stats in 2017 🙂 now I have more cycling time.

Only really got back into cycling at the end of summer so stats not great for this year:
    Rides: 59
    Total: 1,755km
    Time: 85h 15m
    Elevation: 17,598m

Did more runs than I did rides – 113 of those.

    4,766 miles
    318 hours
    191 days riding
7,192ft max elevation in a single ride
    229,961ft total elevation for year.

A bit less than last year, but I did become a Dad at the end of July and managed to get enough riding in to have my best cyclocross season yet and win our club rider trophy for TT points despite competing on a road bike.
    A good year.

That should be the riding done for the year. I went out today to get some additional climbing. Sitting on 69.5k metres of ascent was too tempting…

Disappointed in the Eddington number. I reckon I want to smash that in 2017.

Not too bad considering having 2 jobs, 2 kids and a house renovation lasting all year.
    Here’s to 2017 and more hours/miles/riding

Just watched my little Strava film (2016.strava.com), 361hrs 17 minutes of riding, longest ride 221 miles (the Rapha Manchester to London), a total of 5131 miles.

    That’s 118 rides and a total elevation of 449,888ft / 137,125m

Almost tempting to go and find a climb of 112ft to get to 450,000!

I managed to average 120.81ft ascent for each mile traveled, not bad for an old bloke.
    (I did better in 2015 though 129.31ft).

Probably 80% road/commute distance wise but I do get out on the mtb at least once a week and quite often 2/3.

Too late! It’s moved on to 2017 stats.
I did about 2,950 miles, about 50:50 MTB versus road.

Happy with that. I wanted to reach 8000 miles and 700,000 ft, so job done.

It is often said that this site is full of armchair cyclists but after reading all of the posts so far, there are so many huge distances. I was pleased with my 3500 miles until I read this thread, but now I’m inspired for a big number for 2017!

More than last year for me, but not enough variety. 2017 will be all about riding further afield.

Almost all off road, quite pleased with that. Declining health means the last few months have been hard to get much done and I suspect I will have to work hard in 2017 to get anywhere near 2016, but I will aim for a similar volume in 2017.

A good mix of bikes and countries, on and off road. It’s been a very enjoyable year of riding and I’m aiming for more of the same in 2017. Got a gravel race in Australia, a weekend in Mallorca and some mtb in California planned already. With a lot of cancer being diagnosed among friends and family this year I’m acutely conscious of making the most of my health and doing the stuff I love because you never know…

Includes commuting (because I don’t know how to exclude it) and is about 6 months worth. I lost 3 weeks of December to a car accident but still exceeded my arbitrary target for the year. I’m hoping for 1200 miles in 2017.

Was aiming for 3000 miles in the year so managed that despite losing 6 weeks early after being doored on the way to work at the beginning of April! Commuting counts for half the mileage but almost 0 of the climbing figure (flat, 4 mile each way) so to smash my 2015 climbing and mileage figures is good. Put in a massive effort to get out on the bike since August to get my fitness back and it worked rather well 🙂

Aiming for 3500 miles this year as I’m slowly getting back into road riding after a decade away from it so (touch wood…) I should do it easily.

Split is roughly a third MTB and the rest on the road.
