Hallo! I have a sram 10 speed setup (that doesn’t work very well with the shifts of the largest cog -> t-rex hope 40t) and i am thinking to go the 11 speed route.

    I am about to get:
    -sram gx shifter
    -sram gx rear deralleur
-either the 1130 cassette or shimano slx/xt

The sram 1130 cassette weighs 530g, so a lighter alternative would be the slx or the xt 11-42.

Would the system work fine with a shimano cassette? Opinions please.
Also, i would like the opinions in the durability and good fuction of the sram drivetrain (gx shifter + gx derailleur + nx cassette)

    Thanks!

PS. the 1150 cassette is a no-go cause it also needs the xd freehub.

Is your wheel one that can’t take an XD? GX cassette is a pretty good balance of weight and price otherwise at about 390g for £75 (and the drivers are lighter too) and would give you the extra range to boot. Honestly I don’t think you can get the real benefit of 11 speed without it

Go for the Shimano XT 11-46 cassette

    1. The gx derailleur will work with xt 11-46 cassette or should i stick with xt 11-42?

    2. My deemax wheels came with 1070 sram cassette. Will the 11 speed xt cassette fit in the freehub?

    Look at the sunrace cassettes.

hope uses the Sram RDs with their 10-44T cassette so I would imagine the 46T is fine. Worth checking the capacity if it’s listed.

Yes, XT 11-42 will work fine.

I saw 11-46 sunrace cassette, seems perfect, no huge jumps.
The sram gx derailleur will work with the huge 46 cog?
Or should i stick with max 42t?

Not too sure if the Sram rear derailleur will do a 46 tooth rear sprocket but Shimano 11 speed XT or SLX certainly will .
