For what it’s worth, I find the shifting of my 11s XT and XTR shifters much crisper than the 10s XTR I had before and similar to the 10s XT.

Also, regarding gearing, as said only you know know exactly what’s best. I consider myself reasonably fit but the 42t is a must toward the end of big Peak or Lake days.
