Fiona Kolbinger (Germany) has beaten more than 200 men to win the Transcontinental Race; she’s also managed to do rather more miles than I cycle in a year, in just over 10 days.

Mightily impressive and worth shouting about!

2,485 miles across Europe in 10 days, two hours and 48 minutes.

Blimey Charlie. Well done that woman.

Been following the race on Dotwatcher and it’s been hell of a ride from Fiona. The leader after two days had to scratch due to sever saddle sores and she hasn’t looked back.

Watched this from the start. Considering she’d only done Paris Brest Paris and no races before hand, it’s an incredible result. She has that combination of speed (particularly up hill), physical resilience and mental fortitude that means if she wants, she could win the thing several times over. There’s a good scrap for 5th going on at the minute…

Also been following. If you look on her strava it’s mind blowing. Day 9, 372km in 19 hours. 4 QoM and a load of top 10s.

When she arrived at cp4 she serenaded everyone at the hotel piano.

    Worthy winner!
