Snapped chain at CYB Sat – used the spare on pack on trailside so up and running again – need to get a few more just in case. This was a KMC one at £8 a pop as I recall – quick Google search says loads available for £2 each but I’m sure I’ve heard some aren’t compatible with Shimano (full XT). £6 for more appealing than £24…so what’s going to do the job folks?

I got a job lot (six or four sets, I can’t remember which) of SRAM powerlinks for not an awful lot of cash. I’ll see if I can remember.

Never had a problem using powerlinks on any chain.

Pretty sure you can get a similar price on CRC.

I am using KMC CL555 on XT 11 speed chain and not noticed any issues (despite reusing).

You can get them OEM for around £1/each.

@rascal I bought from this Chinese seller on eBay -https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142936871508?ViewItem=&item=142936871508 .  Now even cheaper (£1.44 for 2). They look legit and I haven’t had any problems but hopefully goes without saying that you shouldn’t be in a hurry and have to put environmental (airmail) concerns aside!
