Easier week this week with Pilates, very tough easy half hour on the turbo, walk, stretching and likely weights today. Body was screaming out for dialing it back a bit.

The tail end of the year is normally when I pile on the weight and lose the fitness, this challenge is doing the complete opposite and I’ve even got My Fitness Pal back on the go tracking what I eat!

Amazing how many steps you do in airports. It’s about the only good thing about them, other than as a useful place to board a plane 😉

Ride tonight, see if the legs are better than last week. Asthma appears to have finally buggered off after nearly three weeks.

With Trick-or-Treating on the cards tonight, and a bus work day, I had to get creative so did mobility & isometric exercises during a department comms call. Camera and mic off to prevent the sweating and grunting from distracting the presenters.

Day #46 – pool swim 2.5 km in 49 minutes, I’m quietly ok with getting todays done at all, as I woke up feeling like death warmed up. The swim was very slow, but all done.

First time I’ve been in the water for a couple of months so I was surprised not to get too much of a shock. With water temp at 8.9c and air at 14.4c it wasn’t even cold standing around eating cake afterwards.

@alex – luckily they were only gentle soft ones here. Some wild scenes up the range though – golf ball size.

Blimey, proper weather 🙂 We got caught in one in Molini in Sept and I’ve never been so grateful to be able to hide under a tree!

MTB ride was defo better last night. Did more climbing, was less knackered. Still not full out of this cold/snot thing tho. Also coincidentally had the joy of the ‘are you dead yet’ annual health check. All indicators (weight, HR, BP) going in the right direction, however my ‘cheese cholesterol’  number went from H’mm’ to two raised eyebrows. Looks like a 100 days of swaps might be the next thing on the horizon 🙁

Easy run today I think and post run Yoga. Another big ride planned tomorrow. Away for work next week so the 30 min hotel challenge begins.

Had the choice between an easy looking ‘short sprints’ and the ‘hardest workout in the programme’- so went with the sprints but did attempt to follow Running With Ash’s 20 min post run Yoga. Found that quite hard!

I might even swerve a beer tonight to make the best of a good looking weather forecast  and favourite route tomorrow. Worrying times 😉

19km running in the Pentlands, was intended to be a full skyline but a man down so saving that for his return. No bad thing, wasn’t feeling it – bit bodily fatigued from Thursday’s isometrics.

In an effort to avoid a) becoming a pair of legs with a body that exists to support them and b) numb genitals I went shopping yesterday for a 20kg kettlebell and a new saddle.

I now have a routine in place to do 10 of something when I walk past the kettlebell (curls, presses, squats, lunges) and am about to see if the Specialized BG range is any better for my sore sit bones.

Not been posting but haven’t missed many days – lots of walking when on holiday, rode Wednesday, gym Thursday, some serious gardening and digging Friday, rode yesterday, today and tomorrow. Tuesday I’m hoping to work from home so can have a long lunch at the gym again.

Classic ride from Keswick today. 56km and 1300 metres of climbing. Very muddy in places. Great fun though!

Towards the end; two bikes and one knackered wife…

Day 49. Brodie Castle 10km. Lovely route, weather was fantastic for November (pretty much perfect running conditions). Mrs S’s first official 10km since cancer recovery so she was delighted just to get round.

Day 49: Squeezed in a 6 k run in the fading light and mizzle after doing my bit at U15s football.

Great efforts by others on here. Well done to all.

New saddle seems to work, very obviously different to the last one in how it sits. Ended up doing a relatively mild ride, but might step that up tonight.

Also started the day with some kettlebell swings.
