<p>I think it's a good move to only hit the high earners with a 1p rise in the pound while cutting taxes for the average earner. </p>
<p>I'm still hacked off to be paying for trident but that's another argument.

I'm happy to pay more, as long as money is wisely spent.

<p>One bit I didn't like was that public sector folk over a certain amount were still getting a raise when lot's in the private sector who will be paying for it through increase tax haven't had much of a raise for years either. I'd have prefered it all went to those on lower incomes who are struggling the most with stagnant pay.

<p>NHS seems to do okay, Councils not so good.</p>
<p>Cap on public sector pay freeze and increase to 2% is welcome, but benefit is immediately wiped out by increase of 1p on income tax. So in my case, they are giving then taking.</p>
<p>Loving that gold clubs will now pay proper tax, frustrating they didn't sort our tax on private schools though.
