Please recommend a good tea retailer. I want some good quality loose leaf stuff but don't want to pay through the nose (moon on a stick?)

Internet purchases are no longer made through the nose. Nowadays direct bank payments are generally referred.

Ringtons? They have vans that come to the door too in certain Northern parts.

I was given some Assam from [url= http://www.teapalace.co.uk/ ]Tea Palace[/url] which was excellent, at least in comparison to Twinings, Tesco Finest and Co-ops Assam, though the latter were tea bags to be fair.

Not sure it's the cheapest, though the refills will be better if you already have containers.
