Mongolian ones, bloody expensive and I suspect no better than anything else?
Not sure to go for height or shorter multi flower ones?
Always loved sunflowers and the need for them in the garden this year is even greater in my head.Lol
Bigger&brighter the BETTER MUHAHAHA
We planted some a couple of years ago in pots out on tha patio, I think my g/f got the seeds from B&M, ‘cos she works there. If IIRC, we ended up with six or seven, and the damn things grew to about 7 or 8 feet high, possibly a little bit more. We had to tether them to various things to stop them from blowing over.
I honestly don’t think you need to bother with anything fancy like that.
There were others, but I didn’t take photos of all of them. At one point it got quite windy and there were a row of pots along the front of the shed with string across to keep them upright.
Both 🌻
The tall ones are cool and 'proper' sunflowers, but the bottom of the stems can be bare and ugly. So plant the smaller multi headed ones in front. Double sunflower 🙂
That's a mental price, don't do it.
I've made some gross miscalculations this year and have an abundance of red sunflowers on the go (they all bloody germinated which I didn't expect) - if you want some seeds drop me a PM and I'l stick half a dozen in the post (they'll be 5/6 footers with multiple heads if they have sufficient nutrients & sun)
My weird nursery of misfits.
