Abbot was a mess, 2 years in and he is still blaming Labor for all his problems, leader of the opposition forgetting he's swapped benches. Not the sharpest, poor public speaker, sexist backwards conservative etc. Messed up on lots of PR stuff - knighted price Philip, refused to discuss stuff took a very dictator role. Paired up with him is a treasurer that can't connect with people and trying to sell austerity that would make the UK uncomfortable with a much better balance sheet. They just couldn't sell it.
5$ fee to see the Doc, not funding health services but going to go into medical research - tough sell.
Boasting about cutting taxes but then explaining there was no option to cut spending, all the tax cuts were at the rich/business ends, all the spending cuts hit the lowest.

Previous ones...
Rudd had the charisma to get in but turned out to be a dick, dictator and throw in labor factions they got shot of him as they couldn't work with him - problem was he stayed in Parliment, he then spent the rest of Gillards term lobbing rocks from the back benches (the running joke today was he was going to run for the Lib Job) She should have booted him, at the end they were all laying into Gillard who had done a very good job working with a minority government and forced her out on the if we don't change we will loose the next election.

Not sure if we are going to get stability but at least we have a PM that can actually speak in public.

Also some opinions from all sides here

A good spectrum on the issues of the day, probably one of the best political summary discussion shows going, 30 mins of proper discussion & piss taking of each other

Abbott is an unpopular populist. He is supposed to have the common touch but somehow he never seems to pull it off. The foreign policy failures have been spectacular. He presented himself as a strong leader - but no one can actually identify what it is his government was about.

he stuck with anti gay marriage policies even when the population were either in favour or couldn't really GAS - Turnbull kind of planted a flag for moderate social conservatism a year ago by taking a line that was more "it's not one of my big passions but people feel strongly about it and the government shouldn't stand in the way of adults getting married". That was a position most people could live with.
