Hello. looking for some holiday ideas for the fam this summer.

when i say fam, thats basically 3 women who wanna lay by the pool all day, and me who wants to ride his bike. i dont actually mind lazing by the pool either but i like to get out for a couple of days riding, or a couple of hours every morning...

last few years we have gone to Madeira. that has worked great but i fancy something a bit more flexible as in that i dont have to pre-book a guide company for the day...

terrified of the Alps. i love them dont get me wrong, ive been many times in summer (and winter) and ive largely had great weather - but there have also been a couple of trips where it rained, biblically, every day! mrs and kids would lynch me.

did Mijas in spain once that worked quite well, just disappeared off for a few laps early doors and was back mid morning for breakfast...

So im after something like that really. I really think Finale' would fit the bill, but the choice of accommodation there is terrible. non of them (currently available) even have air con!

so, please, ideas gratefully received.

forgot to mention, this is strictly MTB.

Therefore, this data suggests that e-bike use leads to substantial increases in physical activity in e-bikers switching from private motorized vehicle and public transport, while net losses in physical activity in e-bikers switching from cycling were much less due to increases in overall travel distance.

My sister wants to organise a small trek for some family members of her partner.

Between the mother and son (14) there are some quite significant health and mobility issues, nothing life threatening but just require consideration.

What she wants to do is take them on a hike/trek with the end goal being somewhere to stay like a bothy. In terms of mobility think sticks and no carrying of luggage. There needs to be a path of sorts but it doesn't have to be perfect.

In terms lf accomodation its needs to have a toilet which pretty much kills any MBA bothies that aren't already over subscribed. The reason for the toilet is an accessibility issue. So private bothy or alternatives sought.

As an added bonus there is a potential for two Scandinavian ponies (not sure, swedish ardennes maybe) adept in hills etc and more than hardy enough to be corralled for the night.

Location realistically is going to be whats available but for i for they are all based in aberdeenshire.

Anyone any ideas?

So I had to visit A&E yesterday with suspected heart issues. Got the all clear. However left with some additional concerns.

Basically the doc came in to take my blood. In one hand he has the needle and extraction tube, the other the packet it came out of. Puts the needle on the table, puts the wrapper in the bin, then announces he's cut his hand. Blood pissing out, he washes it and goes to get a plaster.

Anyways he comes back in, and i ask what happened and he says he stabbed himself. I ask him to confirm it's not with the needle he's about to stick in my arm that's still on the table and he says no, it was another needle, and it was the collection tube end he'd stabbed himself with.

I'm a bit stressed at this point so don't argue any more and he takes the blood and leaves. And I start thinking, 'hang about, if it wasn't that kit he cut himself on then why did he walk in with it, then realise he'd cut himself'. And besides, he shouldn't be touching stuff he's taking my blood with if he's got bleeding hands

Anyway, I speak to the nurse and she says she'll speak to the doctor in charge. At the end of my visit the boss appears with doctor who took the blood and says 'don't worry, zero risk of infection' . I didn't feel in a position at that point to tell him what I saw with my own eyes, given the guy was standing right next to him

So reflecting today I am worried. I have health anxiety at best of times, and imo I'm due an explanation as to why there is 'zero risk' . As far as I can tell there was only ever one needle kit, and i can't see how it's possible that you can cut yourself on the bit that collects the blood!

Aibu?

I'm thinking it's time to trade my 160,000 mile bmw 335d in for something electric. Any suggestions?

Needs

Lots of leg room. I'm tall and my two kids are 6 and 2. They are in child seats.

Range. From Nottingham to Edinburgh 270miles, at Christmas loaded with family, presents and child junk on one charge.

Budget £16,000 ideally less.

Reliability is key over speed. My current car is much faster than I need. I'm not going to do 150mph even if I ever get on the autobahn. Current car is 0-60 in 5 I just don't need to accelerate that fast.

Should take 4 bikes in some way. Roof or tow bars are acceptable. We are unlikely to take bikes to Edinburgh, sadly.

I've been eyeballing Tesla 3/Y/S and X.

My wife is not a fan of Elon Musk and is unconvinced by a Tesla.

Suggestions welcome
