In a idiotic move i forgot to do the straps up on the bike rack while taking childs bikes along the road from Peebles to Glentress at about 13:00. My partners sons bike unknown to us (which i have no idea how a car full of people missed) fell off the rack from peebles to Glentress. We turned around and retraced our steps nothing. We were later told that the bike had come off around the layby by the cycle path tunnel and had been propped up by the road. But it seems it has gone. I hope/ wonder if someone has kindly moved it somewhere safe.

Its an Orange 5/Deva in white, white fox forks, 650b shimano brakes and sram gears. Maxxis tyres.

Partners son is obviously really upset and any help on reuniting them would be massively appreciated.

I saw it propped against the fence.  There was  a couple of cars in the layby and one lad putting his bike in a vehicle in the layby.

A Berljngo or similar type window van vehicle.

I thjought it strange and wondered where the rider was. Was worried that if left it mabe knicked , but on a 50mph road was unlikely from a passing vehicle as it was seen last minute so to speak.

I  thought rider was over the fence or something then wondered why? How?

I would absolutely love to be proven wrong but i don't hold out much hope for you. The problem is the area and the location it was left.
