I’ve managed to get my grubby little mitts on a couple of pairs of the race matrix pads for my codes so will see how they go first.

vincienup, just running 180/200 centreline rotors with the codes (they are the ‘rounded’ rotors as that’s all that I could get at the time). Was using the original sintered pads front and back but then swapped the rear to Galfers.

I’m not a fan of XTs so glad to hear the MT7s have better modulation.

Are the MT7s quiet in the wet?

Been using my Code RSCs for a few weeks now, love the power but in the wet I just can’t get them to stop honking and it’s driving me mad. To be fair they quietened down during my last ride but that was in the dry, I’d swapped the rear pads for another brand and deglazed the fronts. I’m fully expecting them to do the same again on my next wet ride.

I’ve spent an age aligning everything, deglazing everything, cleaning everything and after years of silent easy Hopes it’s getting tedious.

alexxx, the Race Matrix pads aren’t in stock until the new year. If they’re definitely worth a go I may hang on for them to come back into stock. Are you running the in Codes? How do you find them?

Switching between two bikes, one with MT5's and one with XT's I prefer the MT5's. Wasn't initially keen on the longer levers but got used to them (shorted levers are available, though pricey). I just gravity bleed them then do a quick bubble bleed and all is good.

Bad point is the Shimano matchmaker clamp doesn't offer much alteration in shifter placement so I sacked it off and bought a shifter without matchmaker.

The screw in pad pin from Shimano also fits the MT5's as I had trouble sourcing replacement parts by Magura themselves when I replaced the pads. Some pads stay in just fine (the butterfly looking ones) while the 4 separate pads need then pin to keep them in place.
