Although they have taken on a considerable amount of wear and tear, they are still fully waterproof and have many more years of climbing left in them. These were made in Italy and are a single piece leather construction from toe to heel. The sole is Vibram, and has the ridges for attaching crampons. There is a steel shank in these boots which reduces the flexibility and aids climbing on rocky and icy slopes. The toe box is fairly sharp, and this also aids when kicking in to steep ice/snow if crampons are not being worn.
I’m selling this pair of fantastic Scarpa mountain boots for my Dad (he knows nothing of the mysteries that is online selling!).
They are a great 4 season boot that have been used comfortably in very cold and icy conditions well above the snow line.
Having been used for many years I have tried to show the condition as best I can in the photos. They have had a thorough clean up, to try and remove as much of the many years of treatment products that had built up on them. Some of it still remains stuck around the lace loops and seams.
The size is a EU 44, which is about a UK 9 and half, and are narrow in width fitting.
