Santa Cruz Tallboy LT 2013 Alloy
Frame size XL – As a guide I’m 6’2″, SC frames come up notoriously small, I would say I’m at the upper end of the rider size for the frame.
Had this bike from new, built up by Ride cycleworks Lower Parkstone (now sadly gone). Excellent all-rounder capable of extended cross country rides or blasting the downhill bike parks. 137mm rear travel, 140mm front.
29er – wtb rims on Santa Cruz marked Hope pro 2 hubs – a couple of small dinks front and rear but still true and is set up on tubeless with Hans Dampf 2.35 on the front, Bontrager SE5 2.3 on the rear.
Converted to 1×10 with Absolute Black 28t Oval Chainring and Sunrace 11-42 rear cassette. SLX cranks and rear mech Hope red jockey wheels
Avid Elixir 5 brakes with 203mm front rotor, 180mm rear.
Rockshox Reverb 100mm dropper post externally routed through Hope seat clamp
Pike RCT3 140mm Forks – carry out my own services these days, last lowers service approx March. A couple of minor marks on the stantions.
*Forks and reverb are 2014 they were sent back to Sram for services, they couldn’t be bothered and sent new replacements, odd, but I wasn’t complaining.*
Rear shock Fox CTD – I last did an air can service approx March.
Nukeproof bars, ODI grips could do with a change as could the WTB saddle but only cosmetic.
It’s got it’s fair share of marks and rubs, most have been protected by frame patches. I will be sad to see it go, but I don’t ride it as much as I should and I need the space.
