A couple of frames that could make for a good project.
First is a Peugeot UO8 or similar series (AO etc.) from the mid 70’s. French in all aspects; BB, cranks, pedals, mech, headset, forks, stem, bars and probably half a dozen other things. The good part is despite the cosmetic condition everything seems to be spinning as it should with no knocks so bearings are all sound and the seatpost moves. The bad part is it obviously looks terrible. The brake lever is splitting on the dovetail joint on one side but that could easily be fixed with a bit of sympathetic bending. Components are mostly “stock” Peugeot plus a Simplex derailleur, AVA single slot stem and Weinemann brakes. The frame takes a 27 1/4″ wheel and is 60cm BB to top of seat tube.
The second frame is an anonymous road frame of some sort, I was told what it was years ago but can’t remember, I had thought Kona but they have confirmed it’s not theirs though suspect it’s a north Pacific coast manufacturer. My late friend had it built as a singlespeed. Frame is 16″ from BB to top of seat tube and will not come with the headset shown but can come with another set of curved forks.
I just want rid of both frames to be honest, would rather see them go to good use. Can either post, pick up or meet within reason, if no interest I’ll send them to the bike charity.
