Pipedream Sirius mountain bike – the original number 1 testbike as used by BikeMagic and WhatMountainBike (gaining Gold awards).
This is the original bike frame that made Pipedream famous backin the early 2000’s, so it’s designed to fit 26” wheels and is size 19.5”. Pipedream used Argos Cycles to paint the frame in a very classy and distinctstyle of which Pipedream stated to me that they would never use the same colours and colour scheme again. To this day they have kept their word althoughsome shades of green have been very similar.
This is a steel frame that is just supercool retro giving rigidity and flex to the ride as you would totally expect. The frame was purchased direct from Pipedream (with paperwork to prove its’ provenance) andwas then built to a similar standard as used in the test rides by BikeMagic and WhatMountainBike and of course the late Mr Worland, however was built to meet the rigours of the singlespeed craze. The bike was ridden by myself in various endurance and cross country events including UK Singlespeed Championships whilst representing the Royal Air Force Cycling Association.
Having since retired from the RAF, my hobbies and lifestyle has changed somewhat and the bike has been kept in the garage protected from the elements. It’s now time for this lovely steed to go to someone that canappreciate it more than I.
The steel frame was waxoyled as soon as I bought it. The forks were last serviced in 2012 by TF Tuned and the bike was last ridden.
The frame is very tidy for its age but does have some marks from use as do the components. The head badge is made from titanium.
