Free!

This is a 2014 Salsa Spearfish XL in Aluminium.  Its the Split Pivot version of the bike, so really nice and fast… unfortunately also with a split right through the seat tube!

Other than that pretty major issue, its in good working order!

I talked to a bike welder who reckoned he could successfully weld it, but I decided not to risk it in the end as I used it for bikepacking trips.

If you fancy a project and have a welding gun, then how about a free frame to fix up?

Note that the pictures show a Hope bottom bracket – that’s not included, I just haven’t removed it yet. Also, the pivot axle that is out was just pulled out to try and inspect it. Could be put back in easily – nothing wrong with it.

Designed for 100mm travel, 29 wheels. The shock probably needs a good service as it hasn’t been done for some time.
