2021 Canyon Spectral CF 27.5 Frame.
This is my 2021 Canyon Spectral 27.5 Carbon fibre frame. It’s a large and was new in the summer of ’21. It’s not been ridden a great deal as I developed an injury and had to stick to road biking for a good while! It has 150mm travel and will take a 160mm fork. It is boost 148 spacing as is usual for a modern MTB.
The frame is matte black naked carbon with gloss black decals. I had it wrapped with matte Invisiframe from new, so any scuffs are in the wrap and not on the frame. Some of the edges of the wrap are peeling slightly but this doesn’t affect the performance, only the aesthetics.
The cabling runs through the removable downtube protector, so building it up and servicing it is super easy to do. Cables and hoses simply clip inside channels in the downtube protector and you bolt it back on. Easy.
The frame includes the Fox Factory DPX2 which is an absolute dream and one of the best air shocks on the market. It also includes the Shimano XT bottom bracket and a Works components angled headset and crown race which sets the head angle around 64.5-65 degrees.
All the pivots and bearings are perfect thanks to Canyon going over the top with caps and outboard seals for all the pivots.
Despite the chunky chainstay protector and the Invisiframe thereis some missing paint around the drive side dropout from chain slap. This could be touched up with a black Sharpie if it bothers you.
The frame will come with the Canyon tool/snack box that fastens inside the front triangle, two rear axles (one bolt through and the Canyon one with the hidden lever in the photos. I’ll also include a spare used but straight derailleur hanger.
There are tons of reviews online for this bike. The alloy version won Trail Bike of the year in one publication two years on the trot, and MBR said “Pound for pound, there is no better 27.5″ trail bike.”
I’ve had a blast on this bike. It rides lively and agile but has more than enough travel to soak up whatever you can throw at it. It isn’t an enduro bike though, but it will get you down anything at Bike Park Wales or Innerleithen quite comfortably. It will also pedal quite happily on a 40 mile ride round the Peak District. Canyon rate it in category 4 for durability which is the same as their Strive Enduro bike and one below the Torque and Downhill bikes.
Any questions or anything I’ve missed, please ask. Open to sensible offers. Collection only from Congleton area or Trentham area.
