Here we have my much loved 2020 Trek Remedy 8 frame (only) in Large. Purchased new in May 2019 from Blazing Bikes, with an original invoice available on request (Trek offer a 3-year warranty for subsequent owners – Limited Warranty | Trek Bikes (GB) – so you will have a frame warranty up to May 2022).

My reason for sale is that I have recently upgraded to both a Trek Top Fuel and a Trek Slash; having enjoyed the Remedy as my first ‘proper’ modern bike, I reasoned that I wanted to have a more focused version of the great Trek platform – one for XC and one for Enduro/gravity riding.

That being said, the Remedy is an incredibly versatile bike; I have done many all-day rides, with 1000-1500m of climbing, and descending accordingly – each time, the bike was a great platform able to play with bigger bikes with 150mm of rear-wheel travel. Agile with its 27.5 wheels, happy in a bike park, and more than in its element in steep techy riding that I enjoy locally.

I’m selling this frame honestly as per the pictures with a spare set of new pivot bearings to fit when you are ready to, given that the bearings are currently running well at the moment and my mechanic felt they didn’t need changing at the moment.

In addition, you will see in the pictures that the frame has a small dent in the downtube by the water bottle area. This happened out on the trail in a crash back in 2020 but having spoken with Trek and my independent mechanic, it in no way weakens the frame and/or affects the ride or operation of the bike. Indeed, my new Slash (and many other brands) has a large hole in the downtube used for storage – this shows that the downtube is not a structural tube and can take a hit. If this dent bothers you, please consider another frame – however, I’ve ridden far more damaged bikes, and although annoying, I was happy that this dent was just superficial.

Finally, there are plenty of rub marks – mainly from my shoes, and this appears to be common to the alloy Remedy, as I don’t seem to have the same issue on either my Slash or Top Fuel. I am sure that some touch-up paint and some frame wrap will tidy this up. Scratches are present on the frame, but this is to be expected from a bike ridden properly and often over the last couple of years.

The rear shock is the standard Rock Shox Deluxe RT3, works well, and I never had any issues with it.

Happy to meet in person to view, and payment must be a cleared bank transfer regardless of whether we meet in person..

“I WAS BLOWN AWAY”
“I was blown away at how stiff the new Remedy is. Just right for aggressive trail riding. The sum of the parts adds up to a greatly refined bike, but perhaps the biggest story is the increased value.”

“TOP OF THE PACK”
“Overnight, the Remedy has become our new favorite test bike in the quiver. It’s snappy, responsive, and accelerates like a rocket ship.”

“PURE FUN”
“There might be similar bikes out there, but Trek’s suspension is worth paying for. This bike smooths junk out better than anything I’ve ridden before.”
